Application criteria:
- SMISS or SMISS AP member
- Less than 40 years old
- Resides in Asia-pacific area
Application requirements:
- Curriculum vitae including whole publications
- Two letters of recommendation by SMISS AP faculty members
- Letter of support from applicant’s department head or institution granting them time off to participate in the travelling fellowship
- List of two topics that the applicant would be speaking on during the followship program
- Recent photo
Host sites:
- Seoul St Mary’s Hospital (Host: Luke Kim)
- Kansai Medical University Medical Center (Host: Yoshi Kotani)
- Spine Ortho Clinic in Melbourne (Host: John Choi)
- Daejeon Woori Hospital, Daejeon, Korea (Host: Cheol Wung Park)
- Harrison Spinartus Hospital Chungdam, Korea (Host: Hyeun Sung Kim, Dong Hwa Heo)
Highlights include:
- Visit to two different medical institutions
- Interaction with expert faculty both in and out of the hospital
- Operation observation
- Opportunity to share cases
- Friendship and recreation with current and future leaders in MISS
- Memories that will last your lifetime
Itinerary:
- Three to four days stays in each institution
- Travel day is set separated
Selection maneuver:
- Submission of abstract, CV and Photo to 2024 annual meeting of SMISS AP in HK
- Presentation in a fellowship award session in 2024 annual meeting
- Three winners will be selected based on above rating
- Award winners will be notified via e-mail or website
Obligation of fellowship report:
- Fellowship winners should be reporting a summary of fellowship in 2025 annual meeting on-site
- The winners’ registration fee for the 2025 Annual Meeting will be exempted.
